Advice about sample to aim for:

To get good indicative data comparing your new concepts you need a minimum sample of at least 30-50 (and preferably the more the better). Advice from your friendly statistician would probably be to buy the largest sample your budget can afford.

Additional information

When should I use this product?

Whenever you need to choose between several new product or service concepts and want to get feedback among your potential customers about them. For example, what is the likelihood to use each concept; what is attractive or unattractive about them; which existing brands will they be compared to? And finally, how do they rank in customer choice?

What should my new concept description look like?

For each one we need a description, in your own words, including all the important attributes. If you have a picture or diagram of the concept that can also be shown to the respondents.

How many new concepts can I test each time?

We offer two levels of survey.

1. Compare the reactions to TWO new concepts against competitors.
2. Compare the reactions to THREE new concepts against competitors.

Please note: it is only possible to test two or more concepts for the same target market, if you have two concepts for two target markets you may two separate studies.

How many competitor brands can I include for comparison?

For assessing new concepts we compare with up to 10 brands (and will capture any others that the respondents have ever used).

What information do I need to provide to get my project up and running?

You just need to provide us with three simple pieces of information (either via the online form or via the downloadable form which you can email back to us).

1. Define your market sector
2. A description of your new concepts
3. List the existing brands in that sector

Sample requirements?

To get useful indicative data on a sector we advise that you need a minimum sample of 50.

If you wish to split the data (for example by gender or region) you should have the minimum sample of 50 per sub-division.

In general, the larger the sample the better the data, although beyond a certain critical point adding more respondents does little to improve the strength of the results.

Can I change the questions?

The questions are formulated to give you very high level of cost effectiveness. You can change the questions but this will add cost and result in delay.

Please use the contact form giving us details about the changes you are looking for. We can explain the cost and time consequences so you can decide which option is best for your situation.

What does the report look like?

A demo report is available for each product so you can see exactly what you get. All you need to do is enter the your email address so we know where to send it.

How quickly will I get results?

The speed of delivery of the report will depend the complexity of the sample that you specify. For example a large B2B sample requirement may take several week or a small consumer sample may take a few days.

I don’t have an email list, can you help?

We will endeavor to find a suitable email list for you. Please complete the Audience tab to tell us about your target sample. There is an additional charge for securing this list for you.

Can I just have the link/URL and run the survey internally?

Yes, this is an option. You can also use the service if you want organise your own data-collection/fieldwork.
