Advice about sample to aim for:

To get good indicative data comparing your new concept to existing individual brands you need a minimum sample of at least 30-50 per brand (and preferably the more the better). So, if your total sample is relatively small (e.g. 100) you will not achieve this except for the brands with large shares (e.g. if your sample is 100 then for a brand with a 10% market share you might expect to get around 10 responses for that brand).   Advice from your friendly statistician would probably be to buy the largest sample your budget can afford.

Additional information

When should I use this product?

Whenever you need to test a new product or service concept among your potential customers. For example, what is the initial reaction to the concept; what is liked or disliked about it; what could be improved; which existing brands will it be compared to; how well is it perceived against them; what might be its likely market share?

What should my new concept description look like?

We need a description, in your own words, including all the important attributes. If you have a picture or diagram of the concept that can also be shown to the respondents.

Sample requirements?

In a B2C market we recommend a minimum sample of n=140 to provide meaningful results, larger if possible.
In B2B market this could still work with n=50.

Reporting requirements?

Do you need an in-person presentation workshop or will a pdf report by sent by email (with follow up phone call) be sufficient?
